Foundation Board Member and First Vice President Dr. James Taylor was on hand in Vellore in mid-January for some big developments at Christian Medical College. They included launching of new laboratories, groundbreaking for the new pharmacy college, and expansion of housing facilities. The details, with pictures, are in the CMC Newsletter.
Walter Scudder IV, a student at Eastern Connecticut University and a Scudder Association Foundation scholarship winner, returned home in mid-January from a memorable trip to Scudder-supported facilities in India. He is the great-great-grandson of Reverend Walter Scudder who founded Walter Scudder High School. Here’s his account of the visit.

Christmas, surrounded by warmth, love, hope, and laughter, let us not forget those whose lives are clouded with darkness and despair. In the Holy lands of Israel and Palestine, where our Savior once walked, countless innocent children are caught and lost their precious life and future in the crossfire of conflict, enduring terrifying circumstances that no child should ever have to face.
Peter and his wife Liz have long been an integral part of the Scudder Association Foundation. He and his family were frequent visitors to the Scudder Retreat on Shelter Island, NY, where the wind and the sea were woven into the family’s spirit. His presence within our organization will be sorely missed.
