A Royal Salute for the Gillmar Family in India

Foundation board member Jack Scudder Gillmar and his family were greeted with fanfare when they visited the Arni School in Tamil Nadu, India, in January, 2024, including a musical salute from Arni students.

The school was founded by Jack’s great grandparents, Sarah and Dr. Ezekiel Scudder, and is part of the Arcot Mission founded by Scudder medical missionaries in 1851.  Its approximately 250 students can take courses through the 12th grade which makes them eligible for college admission.

Joining Jack on the visit were his wife Janet and son Ben, seen here with school officials.
